Sneeze.

Haiku-a-day:

June 19th
Anticipation
is the feeling of a sneeze
about to attack.

This haiku is perfectly fitting.  I am getting slightly anxious to get home (though I would much prefer to stay and travel for much longer!) and all the rest of my Madison friends in Leeds are leaving tomorrow.  A sneeze comes fast.  Time is like a sneeze.  You see it, you predict it.  It comes.  It's gone.  There is a feeling of relief when you sneeze and also a feeling of pain for a fraction of a second.  I want to get this whole good-bye business and traveling home business out of the way.  It will be a relief when I will finally be back on U.S. soil, however, it'll be painful to leave this Europe behind.  So many memories and so many friends.  I'm torn about whether I should be happy or sad.  This semester has been completely worth it though.

Chelsea and Sara leave tomorrow morning at about 6AM.  We said our good-byes today.  In celebration of our time together, we, and a few other people, went out to dinner.  The Old Bar in Uni was closed, as were a couple other places we went to.  We settled with Thai and it was amazing.  Expensive (£13 or $21), but the food was delicious.  It has been decided that we shall all get together in the future and have a Leeds reunion.  No question about it.

I decided today that I am shipping my suitcases home.  So even though I have 16 more days here, I'm going to start packing now.  Weird is the only way of describing how it feels in the flat right now.  No Roxanne, no Rachel, soon there will be no Chelsea, and Tuesday Vanessa leaves.  I'm looking forward to taking it quite easy for the next couple of days.  I'll do some laundry, some cleaning, some packing, and a lot of reading and tv (on my computer).  This is the goal at least.

Hope all dads are having a happy Father's Day!

  1. Are you going to talk about your trip on the blog soon?
Wow, it's hard to believe that you'll be home in 15 days!
